Lawson Young is from Saratoga Springs, New York. She has been seen in the original Broadway cast of Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas! (Swing), the AEA reading of Secondhand Lions (Jane) and a new rock musical called Love Kills at the Steppenwolf Theatre Company.

She starred as Jeanie in Hair at the Geva Theatre Center, Elle Woods in Legally Blonde: The Musical at the 7 Angels Theatre, and originated the role of Gab in Sceneworks Studios’ premiere show All For Joe. Additionally, she toured the country of Japan as Rapunzel in Disney On Classic’s 15th Anniversary concert of Tangled.

At the West Virginia Public Theatre, she has performed in Les Misérables (Eponine), Happy Days: A New Musical (Lori Beth), The Who’s Tommy (Sally) and South Pacific. She was also seen as Sally Brown in You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown at the New York State Theatre Institute and Ariel in Footloose at the Cohoes Music Hall.

Lawson attended the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati. Her CCM credits include Legally Blonde: The Musical (Elle Woods), Les Misérables (Eponine), Into The Woods (Little Red), Parade (Iola Stover) and Singin’ In The Rain (dance captain).
