I Might Regret This

On April 5th, Lawson made her NYC solo concert debut at The Green Room 42 in “I Might Regret This!” Videos to come, folks!

After performing leading roles on theatre stages around the globe, starting with her broadway debut in Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas, Lawson is making her NYC solo concert debut at The Green Room 42 in I Might Regret This — singing the music of Judy Garland, Barbra Streisand, and Cyndi Lauper, and sharing stories of family, fear, and reinvesting in herself. Join us for an evening of a little play and a whole lot of love.

Rochester-Piece Theatre is back again…now with more Hair!

I’m so excited to be back with another episode of Rochester-Piece Theatre, the first episode of the 2018-2019 season kicks off with Hair! It’s almost like the great minds at Geva Theatre are able to see into the future, because this beautiful play is poignant now as much as it was back in the 1960’s and 1970’s when it first premiered.

I had the honor of having David Andre (Ensemble) and Lawson Young (Jeanie) stop into the studio to give an actor’s behind the scenes peek into this fun-loving musical, and we had a blast!

Tune in and then don’t forget to see Hair at Geva Theatre, on stage until October 7! Get your tickets at GevaTheatre.org!

Review: Age of Aquarius rides high at Geva

Lawson Young can be seen as JEANIE in “Hair” at the Geva Theatre Center in Rochester, New York until October 7th, 2018.

“Overall, this is a genuinely tribal show in which the spirit of the ensemble is greater than any individual. Yet there were some standouts: the brass-lunged Cherise Thomas as Dionne, who reaches the upper stratosphere of vocal perfection in the opening number, “Aquarius,” and Lawson Young as the charmingly pregnant Jeani who steals hearts in her rendition of “Air” with Thomas and Manna Nichols as Crissy. Kudos also to Joshua Carey as Woof and Jamal Shuriah as Hud in “Ain’t Got No” and “I’m Black.” -Democrat & Chronicle, Marcia Placito Morphy, September 11, 2018
